Stony Brook Southampton Hospital is actively seeking a Registered Nurse for the North 2 unit on the full-time night shift to provide skilled nursing care in a fast-paced environment.

You will assess patients, develop care plans, administer medications, and collaborate with other health professionals while ensuring patient education and safety. This role emphasizes quality care and adherence to medical regimens.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Possession of or eligibility for NY RN license.
• Current BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification within 3 months of hire.
• New Grad must obtain ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• BSN preferred under NYS Education Law § 6905 with timeline.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition and coordinate care with other disciplines.
• Develop written, individualized care plans including discharge planning.
• Administer direct nursing care and medications as needed.
• Practice infection control and maintain a safe environment.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to RN or clinician.
• Document teaching and patient education in the medical record.
• Participate in unit/hospital quality assurance activities.
