Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a registered nurse to provide direct patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting. The role uses the nursing process from admission to discharge with a focus on safety, quality, and patient education.

Night shift responsibilities include collaboration with the care team, medication administration, discharge planning, and ongoing professional development. A $6,000 sign-on bonus is available for external hires meeting eligibility.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
• BLS is a requirement for every RN unless ACLS certification is current.
• BSN highly preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for delivery and management of patient's care from Admission to Discharge.
• Performs patient assessment/reassessment according to standard procedure.
• Develops and coordinates individual plan of care including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluates nursing care within assigned clinical setting.
• Documents patient care according to standard procedure.
• Develops, implements/coordinates and documents Education Plan for patient/family/significant other.
• Ensures quality and continuity of care through collaboration with other health care providers.
• Administers medications and assists physician with treatment and procedures.
