Job summary

MelroseWakefield Hospital, part of Tufts Medicine, seeks an RN for Complex Care on a 24-hour-per-week night shift (7p–7a) with every third weekend. The role involves direct nursing care, assessment, care planning, and collaboration with the care team to meet each patient’s plan.

Requirements include MA RN licensure and BLS, with BSN preferred. The position focuses on performance improvement and professional development within a supportive hospital network.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN Licensure is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Department-specific certifications may be required.
• Experience level varies by RN level (I–IV) and 1 year RN experience required.
• BSN is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in and maintains awareness of performance improvement initiatives.
• Evaluates and incorporates evidence-based practice into clinical care.
• Conducts and documents accurate clinical assessments.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates the patient’s individualized plan of care.
• Uses professional nursing judgment to tailor the plan of care.
• Manages patient assignment and delegates tasks based on team skills.
• Develops a comprehensive educational plan for patient and family.
• Respects patient/family rights and informed decisions.
• Continuously evaluates and revises the care plan as health status changes.
• Develops discharge plans utilizing community resources.
• Supports the development of new staff and assists in their transition.
• Precepts and mentors department staff.
• Participates in departmental committees as needed.
• Engages in ongoing professional development.
