Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC is seeking a registered nurse to join the Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) on a 3x12 hour night shift. The 8-bed CDU emphasizes teamwork, supportive leadership, and high-quality patient care with self-scheduling and a strong mission to improve community health.

You will perform patient assessments, initiate nursing interventions, document care, contribute to the Interdisciplinary Care Plan, and participate in QI assessments, leveraging CDU/ICU experience

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire.
• One year of CDU experience required.
• At least two years of ICU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
• Initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
• Documents medical necessity in the medical record.
• Completes and revises Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments.
