Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Intermediate Medical Care Unit (IMCU). This full-time night shift position features 12-hour shifts, self-scheduling, and a 12-bed unit serving high-acuity patients requiring close monitoring.

As an RN, you will perform patient assessments, implement nursing interventions, document medical necessity, and contribute to the interdisciplinary care plan.

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina RN license required.
• ACLS and PALS certifications required within six months of hire.
• BLS required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and identify nursing needs.
• Initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provide care appropriate to patient condition and age; maintain accurate documentation.
• Complete and revise the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Perform timely QI assessments and contribute to patient safety initiatives.

Skills

Active NC RN license

ACLS certification

PALS certification

BLS within 30 days

IMCU/PCU RN experience

Acute hospital RN experience

Education

Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
