Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Neuro unit to provide safe, patient‑centered care on a 12‑hour night shift.

You will perform nursing assessments, plan and implement care, educate patients and families, monitor cardiac status, and communicate changes with physicians. Current RN license, BLS and ACLS are required; BSN is preferred; ventilator management experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Communicate with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, diagnostic results and symptoms.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
