Job summary

Carolina Dunes Behavioral Health in Leland, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse for our 7p–7a shift to provide and coordinate care on an acute psychiatric unit. You will assess patients, administer medications, document care, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support recovery.

The role requires an RN license, psychiatric nursing experience (preferred), CPR and de-escalation training, and a commitment to safety. Onsite position with competitive pay and benefits; EOE welcomes Veterans.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved/accredited school of nursing.
• One or more years’ nursing experience within clinical area of service preferred.
• Experience in behavioral health/psychiatric/addiction recovery environment preferred.
• Knowledge of psychotropic medications and medication administration procedures.
• Ability to apply nursing standards in an acute psychiatric setting.

Responsibilities

• Provides and coordinates care by assessing physical and behavioral health needs and develops nursing care plans.
• Assesses patient status and communicates findings to providers.
• Ensures nursing treatment plans are specific and completed on admission.
• Transcribes and reviews provider orders per policy.
• Administers medications per order with two identifiers.
• Notifies providers of significant changes in status or adverse events.
• Maintains medication accountability and documentation.
