Job summary

Palms Behavioral Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Nights shift on the Adolescents Unit in Harlingen, Texas. The RN will provide nursing care, supervise LPNs and CNAs, and develop individual care plans within an acute psychiatric setting.

Responsibilities include ongoing patient assessments, medication administration with proper documentation, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safety and effective treatment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved/accredited school of nursing.
• One or more years’ nursing experience preferred, especially in behavioral health.
• Knowledge of psychotropic medications and administration procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assess and plan individualized patient care on the unit.
• Coordinate care with LPNs, CNAs and other staff.
• Transcribe and review provider orders accurately and promptly.
• Administer medications following safety protocols with two identifiers.
• Document patient status, treatments, and hand off care to oncoming staff.
• Educate patients and families about medications and patient rights.
