Job summary

Palms Behavioral Health in Harlingen, Texas, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the night shift to deliver nursing care and supervise LPNs/CNAs on the unit. The role involves assessment, care plan implementation, and ensuring patient safety through accurate documentation and teamwork.

Responsibilities include administering medications, communicating changes to physicians, and coordinating care with the interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved/accredited school of nursing.
• One or more years’ nursing experience in a clinical area.
• Experience in behavioral health/psychiatric/addiction recovery environment preferred.
• Knowledge of psychotropic medications and medication administration procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provides and coordinates nursing care by assessing physical and behavioral health needs and developing care plans.
• Maintains medical records and educates patients and families about health conditions.
• Transcribes and reviews provider orders ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Administers medications and monitors patient status and responses.
• Communicates with treatment team and escalates changes in condition appropriately.
• Documents hand-off reports and ensures shift continuity.
