Job summary

Hartford Hospital is seeking a registered nurse to provide holistic, high-quality care to patients and families within a busy unit. The role requires clinical competency, proper delegation, and adherence to the organization’s framework for professional practice.

The ideal candidate holds a Connecticut RN license, ASN (BSN preferred) and BLS certification, with maternity or women’s health experience desired and at least one year of nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut RN License.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school; ASN required, BSN preferred.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association required prior to date of hire.
• Maternal/Newborn experience preferred.
• One year nursing experience required; previous maternity experience preferred.
• Experience in Women\'s Health or postoperative care desired.

Responsibilities

• Provides holistic, quality and cost-effective nursing care for patients/families and/or others for a patient population within a unit, service or other primary area of practice with awareness of the episode of care.
• Applies the nursing process within the context of the organization\'s Framework for Professional Practice.
• Functions as clinically competent; delegates and supervises work appropriately.
• Reports to Unit Manager.
