Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare seeks a Level II Competent Registered Nurse to provide patient-centered, evidence-based care in a busy hospital setting. The RN collaborates with the care team, coordinates discharge planning, and participates in performance improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes.

The role requires an RN license in Virginia or a reciprocal state, BSN preferred, BLS CPR, NIHSS, and at least two years of acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and has experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Valid RN License from Virginia or reciprocal compact state required.
• BSN is preferred.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• NIHSS (Bluecloud) required at hire.
• Additional certifications will be required according to the assigned unit.
• 2 years of recent RN acute care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate nursing care with oversight of licensed and unlicensed personnel using the nursing process and interdisciplinary teamwork.
• Coordinate patient/family teaching and discharge planning.
• Communicate and coordinate the plan of care with other health team members.
• Participate in performance improvement and quality improvement activities.
• Serve as case manager when assigned and participate in committees as needed.
