Job summary

CHRISTUS Health seeks an experienced registered nurse to provide high quality patient care across multiple units. The role involves planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, and may include charge nurse duties as assigned.

Qualifications include BSN preferred, 6–12 months RN or GN permit experience, BLS, ACLS, and active RN license in the state of employment. New nurse orientation and residency opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Six months to a year of experience as a licensed RN or holder of an active GN permit.
• BLS required, RN License in state of employment or compact, Graduate Nurse Permit.
• All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
• One year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Patient Care Planning and provision of comprehensive nursing care.
• Implements patient care as planned and prioritizes based on patient acuity.
• Evaluates patient response and revises goals with the interdisciplinary team.
• Maintains accurate nursing documentation and supports teaching of patients and families.
• Acts as preceptor and assists in orientation of new staff.
