Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a competent Nurse for night shift duties in a clinical setting. The role involves independent practice with long-range thinking, assigning and delegating to team members as needed, and delivering routine and complex patient care.

You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care while addressing psychosocial needs and ensuring safety. BLS and ACLS certifications are required, with orientation and ongoing competency validation included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred
• Current ACLS certification required
• BLS required

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patient and families in accordance with their level of practice.
• Administers medications and treatments using the appropriate protocol; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or care givers; identifies issues and resources.
