Job summary

Mercy Cedar Rapids is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the night shift to support patient-centered care. You will work with the unit team to identify problems, plan care, and educate patients and families, ensuring accuracy in handoffs and documentation.

The role requires an Iowa nursing license (or compact state), BLS certification, and relevant experience in acute care. A sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 is offered along with strong teamwork in a supportive setting.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current license to practice as a registered nurse in Iowa or a compact state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse & Iowa Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate accurate clinical information during handoffs to patients, families and coworkers to support optimal outcomes.
• Demonstrate competent assessment, planning, intervention, coordination and evaluation per the patient care plan.
• Assess patient and family needs to deliver patient-centered care.
• Provide safe, effective basic nursing care and document care in real time.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team and educate patients and families.
• Direct other licensed and non-licensed staff in care provision as assigned.
• Ensure safety guidelines and promptly report unsafe conditions or incidents.
• Maintain professional, welcoming environment for patients, families and staff.
