Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking an RN to deliver and coordinate patient care on a full-time night shift. The role covers admission through discharge, with age-appropriate assessments and an individualized care plan.

You will collaborate with physicians and the care team to maintain care quality and safety. The position requires Massachusetts nursing licensure, current BLS, and ACLS in select units.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
• BLS is a requirement for every RN unless ACLS certification is current.
• ACLS certification is required in select areas (Gannett, MP1, ICU, ED, Cath Lab).

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for the delivery and management of patient care from Admission to Discharge, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population.
• Performs patient assessment/reassessment according to standard procedure.
• Develops and coordinates individual plan of care including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluates nursing care within assigned clinical setting.
• Documents patient care according to standard procedure.
• Develops, implements/coordinates and documents Education Plan for patient/family/ significant other.
• Ensures quality and continuity of care through collaboration with other health care providers.
• Administers medications, performs treatments, therapies and operates equipment according to policy and procedure.
• Participates in and supports Nursing Governance activities.
• Assumes responsibility for professional growth. Assists in education and development of staff.
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives and demonstrates the use of quality improvement in daily operations.
