Responsibilities

• Create an environment where customers feel welcome by answering questions about products in the department and store.
• Know products in the department and respond to questions, offering recommendations.
• Recommend grocery items to customers and inform them of specials.
• Check product quality for freshness and review sell-by dates.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise; provide fresh products as ordered.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude in all interactions.
• Stay current with ads and promotions (present, future, seasonal).
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers; keep temperature logs.
• Follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Inspect equipment and report repairs to the department/store manager.
• Notify management of accidents involving customers or staff.
• Report safety risks, issues, and illegal activity (robbery/theft/fraud).
• Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
