Job summary

GPM Investments, LLC is seeking a dedicated Sales Associate at Handy Mart in Goldsboro, NC. This full-time role covers third shift (9pm–7am) and involves keeping the store clean, safe, and welcoming while assisting customers.

You’ll handle register duties, be trained in lottery, tobacco, and alcohol sales, and participate in stocking and upkeep. Prior retail experience is a plus, but not required. Growth opportunities are available within the company.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Availability: able to work weekends and holidays.
• Willingness to work in all weather conditions, indoors and outdoors.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Basic math skills (add/subtract/multiply/divide).
• Physically able to lift 10 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Friendly, reliable, and positive attitude.
• Detail-oriented and customer-focused.
• Reliable, punctual team player in a fast-paced environment.
• Retail or customer service experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
• Sell lottery, cigarettes, and alcohol while complying with age verification laws.
• Upsell products to increase sales where appropriate.
• Keep store clean and safe inside and out, including restrooms and parking areas.
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays to maintain appealing merchandise.
• Maintain clean entryways, windows, and floors through sweeping, mopping, and cleaning.
• Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Be a helpful team member and assist where needed.
