Job summary

GPM Investments Handy Mart store 4717 in Goldsboro, NC is seeking a Cashier/Sales Associate. You will greet customers, operate the register with accuracy, handle lottery, tobacco, and alcohol transactions, and provide friendly service to promote sales.

Maintain a clean, safe store environment and stock shelves as needed. This role requires reliability, weekend availability, and the ability to stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays.
• Be prepared to work indoors and outdoors in all weather.
• Effective reading, writing and speaking English.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Friendly demeanor and welcoming attitude.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and run the register accurately and quickly.
• Become an expert in lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales with age verification and legal compliance.
• Upsell customers when possible to increase sales.
• Keep the store interior and exterior clean and safe, including bathrooms, pumps and lot.
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays to maintain fresh merchandise.
• Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Be a team player and assist wherever needed.
