Job summary

WellSpan Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for the Respiratory Therapy department in Ephrata. The role supports patient care during 3 x 12-hour night shifts, biweekly total of 72 hours, with every other weekend and holiday rotation.

The position requires background in respiratory care with an accredited program, NBRC license and BLS. You will administer therapies, assess patients, and collaborate with physicians to optimize ventilation and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or post-high school vocational/specialized training required.
• Graduate of an accredited program in respiratory therapy.
• Licenses: Licensed Respiratory Therapist (NBRC) and Basic Life Support required.

Responsibilities

• Administers respiratory therapy modalities per physician orders and clinical guidelines; documents treatment, response and progress.
• Performs patient assessment and develops a comprehensive pulmonary care plan.
• Modifies therapy to maximize efficacy of the regimen.
• Collaborates with the physician to manage initiation, maintenance and weaning of ventilatory support.
• Maintains active communication with patients regarding progress, home programs and therapy-related issues.
• Upholds quality care per policies, safety, infection control and quality assessment standards.
