Job summary

Meadville Medical Center in Meadville, PA is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a full-time night shift.

You will coordinate respiratory care, operate ventilators, document procedures, educate patients and families, and work with physicians and the care team to maintain high-quality patient care. This on-site role requires licensure and national certification or registry eligibility, with BLS expected. Overtime and weekend hours may be required. Ongoing professional development is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Professional knowledge of respiratory therapy and practice.
• Current state Respiratory License or licensure in progress.
• Strong communication to provide instruction and coordinate care.

Responsibilities

• Record patient care procedures accurately and concisely.
• Plan and explain health teaching including medications to patients and families.
• Serve as liaison between patients, families and physicians.
• Operate and set up mechanical ventilators (invasive and non-invasive).
• Respond to critical lab values and coordinate with care team.
• Participate in orientation of new staff and students.
