Job summary

UAB Medicine seeks a Respiratory Therapist for the Respiratory Therapy department on a full-time night shift at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham. Required NBRC registration and Alabama Board credential, with BLS, ALS, and PALS certifications preferred to support high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Licensure and registrations must be current and obtained prior to hire date.
• Graduate from an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy.
• ALS/PALS/Neonatal certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.
• Assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis.
• Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment; monitor, record and communicate patient condition.
• Educate the patient and family about the health condition and available support programs.
• Respond to emergency resuscitation team codes.
