Job summary

Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, GA is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for night shifts. The RRT will perform respiratory therapies, diagnostic tests, and lead patient care under physician orders, potentially serving as Lead RCP during shifts.

The role requires an active RCP license, NBRC RRT certification or completion within 3 months, BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications, and 2 years of acute care experience. At least an associate or BS degree is preferred.

Qualifications

Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) NBRC or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC on hire and current.
Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification on hire and current.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification on hire and current or within 60 days.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification preferred.
Associate or Bachelor degree preferred.
Two years of acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide treatments such as inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications.
Conduct tests like pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis to assess lung capacity and gas exchange.
Set up, monitor, and adjust ventilators and other life-support equipment.
May be part of rapid response team in emergencies, providing airway management and resuscitation.
Assess respiratory status, monitor progress, and adjust treatment plans as needed.
Ensure respiratory equipment is cleaned, sterilized, and maintained for patient safety.
