Job summary

Methodist Richardson Medical Center in Dallas, TX is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to deliver respiratory care including ABG, PFT, and ventilator support for adults and neonates. The role requires state licensure, BLS, ACLS, and within 1 year NRP/PALS; prefer 6 months’ experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Current ACLS certification required.
• NRP and Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Texas license as Respiratory Care Practitioner in good standing.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience preferred, new graduates encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, aerosol therapy, chest physiotherapy and ventilator management.
• Perform cardiopulmonary diagnostics: ABG, pulse oximetry, PFTs, ECGs.
• Prepare treatment evaluations with bedside assessment and review of medical records.
• Use critical thinking to determine appropriate actions.
• Interpret CXR, ABG, and PFT data.
• Assemble, operate, and troubleshoot cardiopulmonary equipment.
• Participate in infection control, safety and quality assurance.
• Maintain and clean equipment and work areas.
• Utilize patient scripting to improve satisfaction.
• Perform other duties as required.
