Job summary

St. Rose Hospital in Hayward, CA is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a 0.9 FTE Full-Time NOC shift (18:30 - 07:00). The role encompasses respiratory care, diagnostic testing, patient education, and multidisciplinary collaboration within the Pulmonary Services department.

Responsibilities include ABG analysis, ventilator management, CPT, and CPR/ACLS support, with frequent interaction across age groups and care teams. Training and safety adherence are priority.

Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner License in CA required.
• RRT credential required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
• Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) required.
• Sexual Harassment/ Bullying Prevention Certification required. (1 month from hire)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.
• CPFT preferred.
• Membership in AARC and/or CSRC preferred.
• Graduate of COARC or JRCRTE/AMA Respiratory Care Educational Program required.
• Minimum 2 years previous hospital experience preferred.
• Emergency Room, Critical Care, Pediatric, Neonatal, and Geriatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes healing of acutely ill patients through respiratory care, tests, and education.
• Operates ABG analyzers, arterial punctures, and ABG quality control.
• Uses ventilators and related equipment; assesses respiratory status.
• Maintains accurate patient records and communicates with care teams.
• Responds to emergencies and assists CPR/ACLS as needed.
• Provides patient and family instruction on therapy and homecare when applicable.
