Job summary

JPS Health Network in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for the night shift to provide direct patient care across neonatal to geriatric populations at John Peter Smith Hospital.

The role requires an RT credential, Texas licensure, BLS, ACLS and PALS within 90 days; a degree path or years of experience may apply. The incumbent will support ventilation, airway management, and patient education.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program per CoARC with at least an associate degree.
• Alternative: six or more years as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in lieu of degree.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist credential required with Texas licensure.
• Current BLS certification, ACLS; PALS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Administers routine respiratory therapy procedures per physician orders.
• Maintains artificial airways and assists with intubation, tracheostomy changes, decannulation.
• Performs arterial puncture and analysis; operates and maintains equipment.
• Initiates and monitors mechanical ventilation; documents in medical records.
• Provides patient education on respiratory therapies and care plans.
• Supports with chart audits and quality improvement activities.

Education

Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy

Bachelor's degree in Allied Health (preferred)

Six (6)+ years as Registered Respiratory Therapist

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification

Texas Medical Board licensure as Respiratory Care Practitioner

Current BLS certification

ACLS Certification

PALS within 90 days of hire
