Job summary

Methodist Midlothian Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a 12X3 night shift. You will perform ABG, PFTs, ventilator support, and oxygen therapy, under indirect supervision, caring for adults and neonates.

Texas license and NBRC registration are required, with BLS and ACLS current; NRP/PALS must be obtained within 1 year of hire. Responsibilities include arterial blood gas analysis, ECGs, and respiratory assessments.

Qualifications

• Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner in Texas.
• BLS and ACLS required on hire; NRP/PALS must be obtained within 1 year.
• Proficiency in ABG, PFTs, and various ventilator supports.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapies including oxygen administration, aerosol and humidity therapy, airway management and chest physiotherapy.
• Conduct arterial blood gas analyses, pulse oximetry, PFTs and ECGs as prescribed.
• Assess patients with bedside exams and review medical records to guide treatment.
• Interpret CXR, ABG, and PFT data to inform care.
• Set up and troubleshoot ventilators and related CP equipment.
• Contribute to infection control, safety and quality assurance initiatives.
• Maintain CP equipment and work areas.
