Job summary

Advanced Correctional Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a registered nurse to provide nursing care and coordinate medical services in a correctional facility setting in Minnesota. You will assess patients, administer medications, and collaborate with physicians and other clinicians to support safe, compliant care.

This role requires an active RN license, BLS, strong documentation, and knowledge of RN scope of practice; on-site coverage at multiple facilities may be required.

Qualifications

• Active nursing license in the state where services are provided
• BLS certification with hands-on training
• Excellent documentation skills and accuracy
• Knowledge of the RN scope of practice

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and deliver nursing care to patients
• Contact practitioner to obtain orders
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments
• Provide emergency first aid when needed
• Record vital signs, glucose checks, weights and other tests on-site
• Triage intake screenings for necessity and priority
• Collect data for CQI statistical reports
• Document care information accurately and timely
• Report adverse reactions or changes in condition
• Educate patients on facility policies and discharge planning
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA practices
• Coordinate care with multiple medical services as directed
• Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control
• Demonstrate knowledge of pharmacology and drug interactions
• Understand therapeutic diets and nutrition
• Apply social and behavioral science in correctional settings
• Suggest improvements to procedures or equipment
• Notify supervisor of incidents and changes in care
• Participate in in-service education sessions
• Perform duties within state/local standards
• May cover shifts at multiple facilities or act as back-up
