Job summary

Gordon Food Service is hiring a Freight Handler on the Receiving Team at our Brighton, MI distribution center. The role involves unloading pallets from trailers, breaking down products for palletizing, and sorting inbound freight by item code.

This position requires 18+ years old, flexibility for holidays and overtime, and the ability to work in extreme cold or heat as needed. No prior warehouse experience is required; training is provided.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must be able to work holidays, weekends and overtime as needed.
• No prior experience required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Safely remove pallets of product from trailers and break down for correct pallet configuration.
• Separate inbound freight by item code onto good pallets.
• Ensure damaged product is accounted for and not received into warehouse inventory.
• Maintain pallet integrity and assist with physical warehouse tasks as needed.
