Job summary

Gordon Food Service is hiring a Freight Handler / Package Handler for the Morning Receiving Team at our Brighton, MI distribution center. Starting pay is $18.60 per hour with weekly pay, benefits from day one, and bonus opportunities.

The role involves safely unloading pallets, breaking down products for correct pallet configurations, and placing inbound freight by item code. Training is provided; 18+ and ability to work in varying temperatures are required.

Qualifications

• You must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Work in extreme cold or hot conditions (-25F to 100F).
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Pass a drug test and background check.
• Prior warehouse experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Safely remove pallets of product from trailers and break down for correct pallet configuration.
• Separate inbound freight by item code onto good pallets and ensure damaged product is not received into inventory.
• Account for the structural integrity of pallets and ensure proper pallet usage.
