Job summary

Schaefer Plastics North America, LLC is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Inspector (Injection Molding) in Charlotte, NC. You will inspect materials, in-process production, and finished goods to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards. A minimum of 2 years of QC experience and ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools is required.

The shift runs 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., seven days a week (2-2-3).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; quality certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of quality inspection or quality control in manufacturing
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, measurements and technical docs
• Experience using standard inspection/measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges
• Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and math/measurement ability
• MS Office proficiency and ability to learn digital quality systems
• Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and roll up to 500 pounds
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards is a plus
• Flexibility to support varying shifts and overtime

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards
• Use measurement and inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to confirm dimensional accuracy and functional performance
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions accurately
• Identify, label, and properly control non-conforming material in designated Quality Hold areas
• Record inspection results and test findings clearly, accurately, and completely
• Partner with production, warehouse, shipping, and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and reduce scrap or rework
• Support continuous improvement efforts and contribute to quality-focused decision-making on the production floor
• Provide additional shift coverage as needed, with advance notice and supervisor approval
• Perform other duties as assigned by Quality Management
