Job summary

Vertex is seeking a Manager, Quality Control to oversee analytical functions across the Vertex Manufacturing Center and Leiden Center. This night-shift role (Wed–Sat, 9:00pm–9:00am) includes formal people management and cross-functional collaboration for in-process, release, and stability testing.

The position emphasizes cGMP/GDP adherence, data integrity, and continuous improvement, with opportunities for bonus and equity awards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science or related discipline.
• 8 years of experience in pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical industry.
• Strong knowledge of cGMP/GDP and regulatory inspections.

Responsibilities

• Independently manages laboratory programs within QC (assay readiness, training, sample management, data review) and acts as QC representative at triage.
• Coordinates and facilitates laboratory activities to meet commitments on time.
• Ensures lab personnel have appropriate training and calibration.
• Assists in troubleshooting analytical methods and equipment as required.
• Authors, reviews, and approves data, SOPs, and reports; monitors lab metrics.
