Job summary

Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated seeks a Manager, Quality Control for the Vertex Manufacturing Center and Leiden Center. This third shift role includes formal people management and oversight of analytical functions for in-process, release, and stability samples.

Responsibilities include authoring and reviewing data, ensuring records meet cGMP standards, and guiding cross-functional teams to continuous improvement. Requires a science degree with extensive pharma QC leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science and 8+ years in pharma/biopharma.
• Strong knowledge of US/EU cGMP and regulatory inspections.
• Experience leading QC programs and investigations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee analytical programs across multiple centers.
• Lead triage, data review, and reporting for QC activities.
• Coordinate lab activities to meet commitments and ensure training.
• Lead investigations (OOS/OOT) and drive corrective actions.
• Coach staff and serve as QC representative in cross-functional teams.
