Job summary

Atkore Weatherford, TX is seeking a Maintenance Technician II for the night shift (7:00PM – 7:00AM) to keep PVC pipe production equipment running efficiently.

You will perform preventive maintenance, locate root causes, operate power tools, and assist with changeovers to minimize downtime, while following safety rules and company policies. Training and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting and problem-solving.
• Commitment to safety and core values.
• Adaptable to changing priorities in a multi-demand environment.
• Own hand tools and toolbox.
• Experience with installation and repair of machinery.
• Basic math for quick, accurate calculations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50–70 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and modify machines to aid PVC pipe production.
• Abide by all company rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Ensure safe and operable condition of machinery by completing PMs on engines, motors, conveyors per instructions.
• Locate sources of problems by observing devices and using precision tools.
• Remove and repair defective parts with cranes, hoists and hand tools.
• Control downtime by informing production or maintenance activities.
• Fabricate repair parts using shop equipment and tools.
• Align motor/gearbox coupling with laser alignment tool.
• Perform routine equipment checks and assist with changeovers.
• Maintain equipment used to manufacture, package, convey PVC conduit and related systems.
