Job summary

UNM Hospital's Crisis Triage Center seeks a Registered Nurse to provide professional psychiatric care, design care plans, and support recovery in a diverse patient population. You will administer medications, perform triage, educate patients and families, and coordinate with physicians and other clinicians to ensure safe, effective treatment.

This full‑time, nights shift role offers shift differentials and opportunities for professional growth within a collaborative, patient‑centered environment

Qualifications

• Bilingual ability in English and multiple Native languages is required.
• CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuers within 30 days.
• RN license in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement.

Responsibilities

• Interview, examine, and assess psychiatric patients.
• Observe behavior and mental status; perform triage and crisis intervention.
• Write treatment plans and coordinate medications and procedures.
• Educate patients and families on treatment regimens and side effects.
• Coordinate communications between physicians, students, staff, patients and families.
• Follow departmental policies and safety standards.
• Participate in orientation and preceptor responsibilities.
