Position Summary: The Production Supervisor is responsible for directing associates in successful plant operations while ensuring safety, quality, production, and customer requirements are met. This role requires leadership and motivation skills, effective communication, and involvement in materials planning, logistics, data review, and process management.
Essential Job Functions:
- Lead team meetings communicating quality and production information, along with updates from other locations/departments.
- Coach and counsel team members on safety, performance, attendance, training, housekeeping/5S, and quality to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Ensure clear communication of all production, safety, quality, and informational updates to team members.
- Participate in accident/injury investigations, including near misses, and implement corrective actions such as engineering controls and employee education.
- Conduct audits related to safety, training, and quality, and develop countermeasures as needed.
- Assist with compliance to TS16949 and other customer-mandated certifications.
- Coordinate work assignments for team members.
- Administer disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Support materials planning and logistics.
- Review production data from operators.
- Process payroll and attendance data.
- Assist with preventive maintenance of equipment.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 3+ years manufacturing/production experience.
- Knowledge of glass manufacturing process is preferred.
- Willingness to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Reliable attendance required.
- Ability to work collaboratively within teams.
- Valid driver’s license for business travel.
- Ability to work beyond 40 hours/week as needed.
