Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. is seeking a Production Operator for the Martinsville, VA site. This night shift runs Sunday evening through Wednesday evening, 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, in a forge and grinder production environment with heavy equipment.

Responsibilities include setups, quality inspection, and coordination with maintenance and other departments while following strict safety rules. Prior shift flexibility and 24/7 operation readiness are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Position requires a strong learning aptitude as 95% of knowledge is learned on the job.
• Must be able to stand, stoop, sit, climb steps and ladders, move equipment and lift at least 50 lbs.
• Basic computer skills for data entry in Windows-based systems.
• Strong reading and communication skills.
• Willing to work flexible schedules, including overtime and weekends in a 24/7 operation; may rotate day to night shifts.
• Authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not available.
• Export-controlled data access; ability to obtain access is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform setups, adjustments, and other modifications on equipment.
• Inspect and ensure product quality.
• Interact with other departments and personnel.
• Assist Mechanical and Electrical maintenance technicians as needed.
• Maintain basic knowledge of machinery and perform preventive/predictive maintenance.
• Work with minimal supervision to complete tasks on time.
• Keep a clean, organized work area and record daily paperwork.
