Job summary

Perfetti Van Melle in Erlanger, KY is seeking a Production Operator for a 12-hour night shift. The role covers start-up/shutdown, lockout, sanitation, and operation of packaging equipment, ensuring product quality and efficient flow through the line.

You will troubleshoot equipment, perform data entry, and uphold GMP and safety practices while maintaining a clean, organized work area and supporting shift hand-offs. Prior manufacturing experience is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Manufacturing/warehouse/distribution experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Ability to perform basic math (units, decimals).
• Ability to work overtime hours as needed.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem analysis skills.
• Must wear PPE (safety shoes, glasses, hearing protection, uniform, hairnet, beard net, mask).
• Able to stand/walk, lift up to 50 pounds, push/pull 350-pound carts.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor packaging equipment to maintain product flow from extruder discharge to palletizing.
• Check package integrity and quality (metal, seals, code date, weight).
• Monitor product/case weights and handle scrap as needed.
• Troubleshoot equipment to ensure continuous operation.
• Enter data into the computer.
• Maintain clean and safe work area and assist with sanitation.
• Notify maintenance or supervisor when line needs attention.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
