Job summary

Celanese in Virginia's Chester area seeks a Production Supervisor (Night Shift) to lead shift teams of about 25 hourly employees in film casting and slitting operations. You will drive safety, quality, productivity and reliability while coaching staff and ensuring policy compliance.

The role emphasizes developing employees, maintaining safety culture, and coordinating workflow, with hands-on problem solving and daily performance reporting to the Area Leader.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial operations.
• Chemical manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; SAP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day production activities to meet safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency goals.
• Lead, coach, develop, and evaluate hourly employees.
• Plan, assign, and direct daily work activities and staffing resources.
• Provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
• Support onboarding, training, mentoring, and workforce development initiatives.
• Ensure consistent administration of company policies and HR practices.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure EH&S compliance.
• Lead hazard identification, risk assessments, and investigations.
• Coordinate site emergency response activities and evacuations.
• Monitor asset performance, uptime, and operational reliability.
• Troubleshoot production and quality issues and escalate as needed.
• Drive continuous improvement through employee engagement.
