Job summary

Shutterfly is seeking a hands-on 4th shift Production Leader in Plano, TX to manage staffing, safety, quality, and on-time shipping for a high-volume photo book production line. You will coach a mix of full-time and seasonal staff, optimize workflow, and drive performance using data.

The ideal candidate will lead digital printing, binding, and finishing operations, leverage Excel and Power BI for KPI insights, and collaborate with Operations, Quality, and HR to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Hands-on manufacturing leadership in a fast-paced production environment.
• Experience supervising, coaching, and developing production teams.
• Strong understanding of production metrics, labor planning, quality standards, and KPIs.
• Ability to troubleshoot workflow issues and adjust resources to keep production moving.
• Proficiency with Excel; Power BI or similar reporting tools preferred.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Experience in digital printing, bindery, book manufacturing, packaging, automated equipment, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma or CI methodologies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise production operations for the 4th shift, including staffing, workflow, equipment utilization, and daily priorities.
• Coach, engage, and develop a team of full-time and temporary production employees, including seasonal staff.
• Ensure safety, quality, productivity, labor efficiency, and on-time shipping goals are met.
• Support production across digital press, coating, cutting, binding, casing, and finishing operations.
• Monitor KPIs, review trends, and use Excel/Power BI to drive performance improvements.
• Partner with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and HR to resolve issues and reduce waste.
• Promote a safe, accountable, customer-focused work environment with clear communication.
