Job summary

Ultium Cells LLC is a joint venture building a high-technology, 12-hour night shift manufacturing operation for lithium-ion battery cells. The role focuses on engineering work, continuous improvement, and problem solving in a highly automated plant, with collaboration across internal and external partners.

The position requires 3–5 years in complex mechanical assembly, plus leadership experience, and a bachelor’s degree in an engineering field or related experience. On-site required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years experience in complex mechanical assembly, tooling, and manufacturing equipment.
• Industrial or Manufacturing leadership or supervision experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of quality processes and implementation methods.
• Knowledge of electricity, electrical products, raw materials, production processes, automated equipment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance for plant safety and environmental regulations.
• Support Team Members and coordinate activities of employees engaged in production.
• Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules to determine requirements.
• Collaborate with leaders to coordinate operations within or between departments.
• Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet goals.
• Support and train team to inspect materials, products, or equipment for defects.
• Support training through demonstrating equipment operations and safety procedures.
• Support and facilitate team-based problem solving.
• Observe KPI gauges and equipment performance to ensure standards.
• Confer with leadership and team to resolve work force concerns and engagement.
• Interpret specifications, drawings, job orders, and company procedures for workers.
