Job summary

Qualifications

• 1 year Pilgrim's experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English.
• Demonstrated ability to perform basic math including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and percentages.
• Working knowledge of production operation.
• Working knowledge of supervisory management practices and principles.
• Ability to follow both written and verbal directions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others to maintain harmony with co-workers.
• Ability to analyze and respond to production problems.
• Basic computer skills (e-mail).
• Skill in making department decisions.
• Ability to perform all positions within the department
• Completes Lockout/Tagout training and awareness of related safety programs.
• Valid Pilgrim's pallet jack license or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Bilingual skills in languages used within the department preferred

Responsibilities

• Trains and motivates team members to achieve quality and productivity performance levels.
• Directs and monitors the operations of assigned processes; plans improvements.
• Promotes goodwill through proactive team communication; supports union-free position.
• Schedules people, materials and equipment to utilize resources effectively.
• Offers feedback for team member performance evaluations.
• Monitors equipment and makes minor adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.
• Performs quality checks to monitor quality levels and make necessary changes.
• Recognizes safety hazards, performs safety audits and assists with investigations.
• Assists in quality improvement, cost reduction, and maintenance efforts.
• Enforces Pilgrim's Animal Welfare policy.
• Backups all department positions as needed.
• Other duties as required
