Accredo Packaging, Inc. in Sugar Land, TX is seeking a detail‑oriented Pre‑Press Technician (Level I) for our night shift to manage plate and sleeve operations on high‑speed flexographic presses.

You will interpret job specs, operate automated sleeve storage robots and plate mounters, and perform precise quality checks on plates, sleeves and sticky back materials. This role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and reducing press downtime in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required.
• Basic math skills required.
• Must pass the New Hire Base Assessment Test (arithmetic and mechanical aptitude).
• Able to operate basic tools and measuring devices (e.g. tape measure).
• Ability to read, write and speak English sufficiently to interpret instructions.
• Operating experience in a manufacturing environment required.
• Mounting experience preferred.
• 12-hour shift work experience required.
• Ability to frequently lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Complies with safety policies and procedures.
• Reads and updates production schedule for plate availability.
• Interprets job information (spec sheet, layout, color target).
• Locates and retrieves sleeves and operates sleeve storage robot.
• Cleans sleeves and visually inspects TIR.
• Quarantines out-of-spec sleeves and sticky back.
• Locates and retrieves plates; mounts on sleeves via plate mounter.
• Maintains mounting log and records downtime.
• Stages mounted sleeves and strips plates from sleeve; cleans plates.
• Inspects plate mileage and discards worn plates.
• Ensures department is orderly and clean.
