Job summary

Spike Electric and Controls LLC is seeking a Powder Coating Lead to direct daily coating operations on the Houston production floor. You will coach team members, ensure safe, organized, and efficient work, and escalate issues to the Powder Coating Supervisor as needed.

You will coordinate tasks from preparation to packaging, monitor quality and flow, and support part tracking and handoffs to maintain production standards. A strong focus on safety, communication, and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; relevant manufacturing experience may substitute.
• One or more years of powder coating, industrial finishing, fabrication, manufacturing, or related production experience preferred.
• Ability to read work orders, drawings, specifications, color requirements, and production information.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily work assignments for preparation, masking, coating, curing, inspection, and packaging.
• Translate the shift plan into clear tasks and communicate changes to the team.
• Monitor progress and report shortages, delays, or equipment issues to the Supervisor.
• Perform required coating steps according to work orders and specs.
• Ensure correct identification, staging, and tracking of parts throughout the process.
• Provide hands-on coaching to team members and support cross-training.
• Complete shift handoffs with status, priorities, and follow-up items.
• Support part tracking, rack identification, and production reporting.
