Job summary

North Central Surgical Center in Dallas, TX is seeking a PRN Post Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse to join our Post-Surgical Unit. The RN provides comprehensive care to post-surgical and telemetry patients, following hospital policies and regulatory guidelines.

Under supervision, you will administer medications, document in the EHR, educate patients and families, and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Texas RN license and BLS required; ACLS within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Current Texas RN License.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification by AHA (must be obtained within 60 days of hire).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within the RN scope of practice.
• Administer and document medications safely and provide nursing interventions.
• Perform accurate, timely documentation in the EHR reflecting patient conditions and treatments.
• Provide education to patients and families about care and expectations.
• Maintain safety, infection control, and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Maintain professionalism in interactions with staff, patients and families.
• Utilize email and computer systems to manage patient care and staff communication.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
