Job summary

University of Georgia is seeking a Night Shift Skilled Trades Worker to support the plumbing and mechanical systems across campus. The role requires following safety procedures, performing routine maintenance, and assisting with building infrastructure projects during evening hours.

Qualified applicants should have apprenticeship or formal training in a trades field and be able to work independently with after-hours support as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires technical knowledge in plumbing and related trades acquired through apprenticeship or formal training.
• Experience with building mechanical and electrical systems preferred.
• Ability to read basic instructions and follow safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support replacement of building DI water systems and associated equipment.
• Assist in responding and repairing plumbing systems and utility infrastructure services (gas, water, sewer).
• Support after-hours jobs to minimize disruption for occupants.
• Understand and follow work order processes with detailed job updates and follow-up.
• Interact and communicate professionally with customers when coordinating work.
