Job summary

The University of Georgia is seeking a NIGHT SHIFT SKILLED TRADES WORKER to support the Plumbing Shop in Athens. The role focuses on operating, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing plumbing systems, primarily assisting an onsite plumber with DI water systems and related duties.

The position requires skills in reading and following instructions, using hand tools, basic computer tasks, and strong teamwork to ensure safe, reliable campus infrastructure during night shifts.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to understand and follow oral instructions.
• Requires ability to understand and follow written instructions.
• Ability to use standard hand tools and equipment common to mechanical trades.
• Ability to learn and use basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support the replacement of building DI water systems and associated equipment.
• Assist in responding and repairing building plumbing systems and utility infrastructure services (gas, water, and sewer).
• Assist on jobs that is best scheduled for afterhours to minimize impact and disruption of service to our building occupants.
• Understand and follow our work order processes providing job details and follow up when needed.
• Interact and communicate professionally with customers on jobs when coordinating of work is needed.
