Job summary

Advantest America Inc. in South Plainfield, NJ, is seeking a detail-oriented Plating Technician to prepare PCB panels and operate electroplating lines for copper, nickel, gold, and tin finishes.

You will set plating parameters, perform bath analyses, inspect panels for defects, record data in MES and production logs, and maintain equipment. A high school diploma and ability to lift 35 lb are required; experience with PCB manufacturing is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
• Attention to detail and quality control.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lb.
• Experience with PCB manufacturing processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare PCB panels for plating: cleaning, micro-etching, surface conditioning.
• Operate and monitor electroplating lines for copper, nickel, gold, tin finishes.
• Set up plating parameters: current density, voltage, temp, agitation, chemical concentrations.
• Perform bath chemical titrations and analyses to maintain proper chemistry.
• Document bath maintenance and record plating parameters in logs or MES.
• Inspect panels for defects (uneven deposition, nodules, voids, contamination).
• Load/unload panels onto racks or conveyors; maintain equipment.
• Identify and report deviations or equipment malfunctions to supervision.
