Job summary

Feed Energy is seeking an experienced production supervisor for a 6PM–6AM, 2/2/3 shift in Des Moines, IA. The role leads cross‑shift teams, ensures SOP compliance, and drives safe, efficient production. Training on days for three months is provided.

You will coordinate schedules, review performance data, and mentor Operators while maintaining strong safety and quality standards. Valid Iowa driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years supervisory experience in a related industry or field.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow directions, interpret written instructions and perform basic math.
• Must have a valid Iowa driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Participates in plant leadership activities and planning meetings.
• Plans and organizes work schedules and production sequences.
• Enforces SOPs and leads training on updates.
• Leads daily pass-down meetings and ensures cross-shift communication.
• Approves safe work permits for maintenance and contractors.
• Monitors operations, equipment and systems for safety and efficiency.
• Maintains understanding of the production process to support troubleshooting.
• Oversees material movement, inventory, and blend preparation.
• Reviews production data and performance metrics to stay aligned with priorities.
• Investigates safety incidents and maintains a safe work environment.
• Maintains floor presence and covers Operator duties during gaps.
• Addresses front-line issues related to production, personnel, or safety.
• Supports customer complaint investigations and root cause analyses (PLI).
• Monitors operator performance and provides coaching and discipline per policy.
• Oversees onboarding and training for operator development.
• Demonstrates company values in leadership and teamwork.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
