Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn is seeking a Senior Laboratory Assistant (Phlebotomy) to support day-to-day lab operations during the night shift. This role includes specimen management, accessioning, inventory receipt, and preparing samples for analysis.

You will work with LIS and automated test platforms, ensure proper storage, and maintain logs for temperature and humidity, while delivering reliable service to patients and providers in Sunset Park.

Qualifications

• High School diploma with 12 biology/chemistry credits.
• Laboratory experience handling blood and body fluids.
• Experience with LIS and inventory processes.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Screen and accession specimens in LIS as described in the Lab Assistant Job Description.
• Maintain supplies and communicate needs for stock to supervisor.
• Receive, document, and store laboratory materials per policy.
• Prepare samples for analysis and handle front-end processing.
• Process samples for storage, tracking, and disposal per policy.
• Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces and equipment.
• Log temperature and humidity for assigned equipment and areas.
