Tidelands Health is seeking a Phlebotomist to join the laboratory team and support specimen collection, processing, and basic testing. The role emphasizes accurate patient identification, infection control, and timely specimen transport.

The position requires phlebotomy certification and a high school diploma or equivalent, with preference for clinical setting experience and strong customer service and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or relevant experience to obtain certification.
• Phlebotomy certification required as listed by certifications.
• Experience in a clinical setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs order entry and Medicare screening for patients.
• Performs specimen collection including venipuncture, capillary draws, urine collection, and culture receipt.
• Demonstrates proper infection control and patient identification.
• Ensures proper and prompt specimen transport.
• Performs proper drug screen collection and processing.
• Performs EKGs and may perform CLIA waived and moderately complex testing if assigned.
• Answers lab phones and responds to questions.
• Participates in lab process improvement projects.
